  1. Okay.

Wud am eye supposed to see?

  2. Now only if your windows were made of dark glass…

  3. The full picture is “more than all the windows can tell us”.

  4. Like encoutering a sharpened pencil in the dark–I fail to see the point.

  5. I think he’s saying bricks are evil….

  6. Nah. I really don’t know what I’m trying to say and was hoping one of you guys could help me out.

For the past 6 months or so I’ve been attending a church that meets in a very old carriage house made of stone. The original windows, usually rather small, have been glassed in.

During times of reflection I find myself staring up at a couple of these small windows. Each one is a like a different picture -one captures a tree branch as it changes throughout the seasons. Another one, much lower down, looks out on a very small slice of the verge between woodland and lawn. I find both of them to be very interesting, but when you walk outside and behind the church the total picture is rather nondescript and ho-hum. It’s the narrow focus of the small windows that draw me in.

    I dunno.

  7. Maybe u just need to pay closer attention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Isn’t that what has caused you so much ecclesiastical grief over the years? Now look at you; as soon as you figured out that it’s OK to think for yourself, you’re a confused mess.

BTW – I’m taking Praxis I tomorrow. Should I be worried?

  9. Soooo… I’m guessing we’re not gonna see any clarifying information from Bev on this post… ;)

  10. To me this is very interesting… but then I over analyze everything. The ways of God are not only mysterious and at times confusing and very frustrating, but they are also beyond our understanding for we lack the complete picture. We are hindered by the tunnel vision that religion seems to create in our spiritual observances.

When I was in the Navy and on the open sea, I used to go out on the helo deck late at night and look at the stars… billions and billions. Far more than can be observed in the lighted confines of the city. Still, with this broadened visual range, I felt no closer to reaching an acceptable understanding of God’s Creation. My little physical brain is not able to purge itself of all its previous religiosity in order to see clearly and without bias. Thank God for the Holy Spirit and His ability to osmotically reveal the truth in tiny little spurts.

God has no problem revealing Himself throughout His creation but we often seem to miss or forget the big picture by looking through such a tiny window.

  11. Dang…bring back the wall. That place is ugly…

  12. for me, the Praxis I reading and writing were easy–I never took the math. The GRE Math, for me, was a hearty failure.

I don’t know if they use any of the same stuff.

  13. You’re right. We need to look through different windows, don’t we.
